My New York City itineraries and posts have everything you need to plan your perfect trip and navigate the city like a local! Make the most of your time in the city that never sleeps by visiting iconic landmarks, hidden gems, famous parks, and restaurants loved by both locals and tourists.

Best time to visit the USA

Due to the USA’s diverse landscape and weather, the best time to visit depends entirely on the experience you’re after. While a Coastal Retreatist might chase the sunshine in Florida during the winter, a Thrill Seeker might prefer the crisp autumn air for hiking the rugged trails of the Northeast. From the bloom of cherry blossoms in D.C. to the neon lights of a rainy night in NYC, every season offers a completely different perspective on these iconic landscapes.

Pro-Tip: If you’re looking to save money (perfect for my Budget Backpackers!), aim for ‘shoulder season’—the weeks between peak summer and the dead of winter. You’ll find fewer crowds at the National Parks and much lower rates for city stays.

US National Parks

There is a reason US National Parks are called “America’s Best Idea.” From the sun-drenched deserts of the Southwest to the lush, fog-covered forests of the Pacific Northwest, these parks showcase just how incredibly diverse the American landscape really is. From the rugged trails I’ve already conquered to the legendary landscapes I’m currently researching, these are the places that prove there is always something new to discover in the American wilderness.
